Precise leveling for your shopfitting and shelving applications

Foot plates, also known as leveling feet or machine feet, These are essential components for the precise alignment and stable installation of shopfitting and shelving systems. Our height-adjustable feet reliably compensate for uneven floors and ensure optimal stability under demanding production conditions.

Your advantages at a glance

Precise height adjustment – Stepless adjustment for precise alignment
High load-bearing capacity – Different load-bearing capacities depending on the version
Three material solutions – Steel, polyamide or polypropylene for every application
Available immediately from stock – Short delivery times for all standard sizes
DIN/ISO compliant – Certified quality according to German standards

The right material solution for your application

Each material offers specific advantages for different requirement profiles. Choose the optimal solution for your application:

Steel base plate

The heavy-duty solution for maximum load-bearing capacity

Galvanized steel base plates are the first choice for stable shelving systems and permanent installations.

Key benefits:

  • Maximum load capacity per foot
  • Temperature resistant from -40°C to +200°C
  • Durability of over 20 years in shopfitting and industrial environments
  • Ideal for shopfitting, furniture and shelving.

Typical areas of application: Shopfitting, shelving systems, cabinet systems, furniture technology

Footplate made of polyamide (PA)

The all-round solution with high strength

Polyamide base plates combine mechanical strength with corrosion resistance.

Key benefits:

  • High load-bearing capacity per foot
  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Color customizable
  • Good impact resistance even at -40°C

Typical areas of application: Drywall construction, assembly stations, conveyor technology, workbenches

Base plate made of polypropylene (PP)

The cost-effective solution for chemical environments

Polypropylene base plates offer excellent chemical resistance at an attractive price-performance ratio.

Key benefits:

  • Superior chemical resistance to acids and alkalis
  • Insensitive to moisture (0% water absorption)
  • Low weight reduces shipping costs
  • Gentle on the floor thanks to its non-abrasive surface

Typical areas of application: Chemical industry, laboratory technology, humid environments, food technology

Quick decision-making aid

Choose steel if:

  • High load capacities are required
  • Temperatures above 100°C can occur
  • Maximum durability (20+ years) is required.
  • Outdoor installation or high UV exposure is present

Choose polyamide if:

  • medium to heavy loads are
  • Good mechanical strength is required at moderate temperatures.
  • Color coordination is required
  • The best cost-performance balance is sought.

Choose polypropylene if:

  • Light to medium loads are sufficient
  • Aggressive chemicals (acids, alkalis) are used
  • High humidity or wet environments are present
  • Lowest cost and lowest weight are priorities

Technical basics: How footplates work

Structure and Function

A typical height-adjustable footplate consists of several components:

1. Threaded spindle – The central threaded screw M10 is screwed into the tube insert in the rectangular tube and enables height adjustment.

2. Foot plate (base plate) – The circular or rectangular plate (Ø 30-80mm) distributes the load evenly across the floor and prevents point loads.

3. Adjustment mechanism The height can be precisely adjusted using a Phillips or hex key (14 mm wrench size). A full turn of the M10 thread (1.5 mm pitch) changes the height by exactly 1.5 mm.

4. Swivel joint (optional) – In articulated versions, a ball joint compensates for uneven ground up to 15° and ensures full-surface contact.

Important specifications explained

M10 thread
The thread size determines the load-bearing capacity and screw-in depth. M10 is standard for light to medium loads.

Plate diameter 30-80mm
Larger diameters distribute the load over a larger area and protect sensitive floors. An 80 mm diameter plate offers seven times more contact surface than a 30 mm diameter plate.

Rotating vs. Fixed
Swiveling articulated pads automatically compensate for floor inclines of up to 15° and ensure full-surface contact. Fixed pads are more cost-effective for level floors.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What screw length do I need?

The screw length depends on the screw-in depth:

  • The M10 screw is available in lengths from 35 to 70 mm.

Can I attach foot plates later?

Yes, foot plates can be retrofitted if threaded holes are present in the pipes or if pipe inserts or threaded bushings can be inserted into them. We would be happy to advise you on retrofit solutions.

How do I adjust the footplates correctly?

  1. Roughly position the shelf and tighten all the feet slightly.
  2. Place spirit level on shelf
  3. Fine-tune height using Phillips/hex key
  4. Secure the lock nut (if present) against twisting.
  5. Check alignment in both axes

Are the footplates suitable for outdoor use?

  • Steel (galvanized): Yes, suitable for sheltered outdoor areas.
  • Stainless steel: Ideal for outdoor and harsh environments
  • Polyamide/Polypropylene: Recommended only with UV stabilization

What certifications do your products have?

Our footplates meet the following standards:

DIN EN 10346 – Galvanizing quality (steel)
RoHS compliant – Environmentally friendly
REACH compliant – EU Chemicals Regulation
